SWS Project System – Our Detailed Process

SWS Builders’ detailed step-by-step process keeps you informed throughout your project and ensures that our high-quality standards are consistently met. From predesign through post-construction, SWS works with you, and our architect or yours, to ensure that the project adheres to budget and schedule. And with our in-office administration staff, there is always a helpful, knowledgeable member of the SWS team to answer your questions.

  1. Predesign Stage (the Initial Step for Team Concept and Single Source Design/Build Clients)
  1. We carefully listen to your needs, desires, priorities, and ideas for your new or remodeled home.
  2. We outline your objectives and begin to create the project’s design parameters, scope of work, and a preliminary budget for your approval.
  1. Design Stage
  1. Our design team begins the initial design, working toward the established budget.
  2. We meet with you to discuss our proposed design and budget.
  3. We refine the design and budget based on your feedback.
  4. We meet to review the revised design and budget.
  5. We work with you to select the products to be used for your project.
  6. We end the design stage by preparing the project’s final design and construction budget for your approval.
  1. Preconstruction Stage (the Initial Step for Traditional Design/Bid Clients)
  1. We discuss with you and your architect the schedule for your project.
  2. We hold a preconstruction meeting with you and your architect to discuss the process and any additional details of the project before we begin construction.
  1. Construction Stage
  1. Construction begins.
  2. We hold regular progress meetings with you and the architect to ensure the project is going smoothly and to your complete satisfaction.
  3. Approximately one week before completion, we inspect the project and scrutinize every detail before officially wrapping up work.
  4. Just prior to ending work, we walk you through the nearly finished project and compile a punch list of any last-minute items to complete.
